MISO Survey Results 2012

The MISO (Merged Information Services Organizations) Survey is an annual survey of faculty, staff, and students at colleges and universities with merged library and IT departments. This site provides access to some of the key findings from the most recent MISO surveys at Connecticut College. These findings reveal, among other things, which services provided by Connecticut College Information Services are the most valuable to our students, faculty, and staff; which are the most successful; and how the campus community, particularly students, uses information technology.

Network speed needs and Mac vs. PC: lessons from the MISO survey

If you were on campus last spring, or the spring of 2009 or 2006, you may have received an invitation to participate in a survey on your opinions of library and information services at the College. The MISO Survey (no, nothing to do with the soup) is a national survey, coordinated by Bryn Mawr College, of liberal arts colleges with merged libraries and IT departments. Our participation in this survey helps us determine which services are most important and valuable to our campus community, which areas need work, and how we compare to our peer institutions.

Among the things we found out from the most recent MISO survey: the extra wireless coverage on campus is much appreciated, but everyone would like faster network speeds; "overall library service" gets high satisfaction scores; library instruction has become more important both to students and faculty; and students with Macs now outnumber students with PCs on campus.

You can now view some of the survey highlights at the new Connecticut College MISO Survey Results site (https://sites.google.com/a/conncoll.edu/cc-miso-survey-results/). And if you participated in any of our MISO surveys, thank you so much for your help!
